Many of you tend to subjectively assess the strength or weakness of specific character classes based on personal experiences. I’ve gained this insight through my own journey in the gaming world. Initially, I primarily played as a Ranger during the early phases of the game.
During that time, I staunchly defended the class, believing it to be rather underpowered. However, my perspective shifted dramatically when I decided to try playing as a Barbarian and found myself utterly crushed when facing Rangers. This prompted me to explore the Fighter class extensively, and when a Wizard swiftly dispatched me while I was clad in full plate armor, I was convinced that Wizards were overpowered. It wasn’t until I tried playing as a Wizard myself that I realized the substantial skill required to excel in that role. My subsequent experience with the Rogue class left me initially unimpressed, until I uncovered the potent combination of Sneak Attack and Weakpoint Attack with a Rapier.
In essence, whenever I come across statements like “Rogues didn’t need any nerfs!” or “Wizards are too powerful!”, I understand that these opinions often stem from personal biases driven by their preferred classes. However, when it comes to Rangers, the complaints are indeed valid.
I’d like to clarify that this discussion is not centered around team compositions. Some classes might indeed be exceptionally strong, but their effectiveness could heavily depend on the composition of the team. Instead, the focus here is primarily on the overall matchups between different classes.
It’s worth noting that much of the contentious discourse seems to revolve around the Rogue class. This pattern isn’t unique to this game; it’s a recurring theme across various gaming genres. For some reason, players with a particular disposition tend to gravitate towards the Assassin archetype, get Dark and Darker Gold Coins rewards not easy in the end. When feedback is given on the class, these players often react with anger, irrespective of whether the class is genuinely strong or not. Even when Rogues dominate the solo leaderboards, any mention of their strength in solo play is met with a barrage of downvotes.
Of course, it’s essential to remember that not all Rogue players exhibit this behavior, but it appears that the toxic and entitled players are disproportionately drawn to the Rogue class.
