The Top 5 Runescape Skills to Avoid Training During the Double XP Weekend

Runescape’s Double XP Weekend is making a return on September 3rd-6th 2010 and if you’re planning to participate in the XP extravaganza, it’s best to start getting ready now. Following are the 5 Runescape skills to avoid leveling during Double XP Weekend.

Combat

Combat is one of the most popular skills to level in Runescape due to the fact that it allows you to kill creatures quicker and is responsible for the player’s rank, but it’s not the wisest skill to level during Double XP Weekend. Combat can be leveled anytime with little to no complications and if you decide to level this skill during Double XP Weekend, you’ll likely regret it once you are forced to level up in one of the more difficult skills that would have been a better fit for Double XP Weekend.

Farming

Leveling up in Farming is extremely difficult and it’s the most time consuming skill in Runescape. Between the planting, travelling, and time it takes your plants to grow, the Double XP Weekend will be over by the time you start to gain any XP in Farming. Using Double XP to level farming will be a waste of time – literally.

Fishing

Fishing is time consuming, but it’s a fairly easy skill to level up in. All you’d have to do to level up in Fishing is find a fishing spot, turn on the television and check up on your Runescape character from time to time. Your Double XP Weekend bonus would be better spent leveling a skill that’s overly repetitive and not a “sit and wait” skill like Fishing.

Woodcutting

Fishing and Woodcutting are more similar than not and you wouldn’t want to level Woodcutting for Runescape’s Double XP Weekends for the same reasons that leveling the Fishing skill would be a bad idea. Woodcutting can even take longer than Fishing due to banking, locating trees, and waiting for trees to respawn.

Runecrafting

Runecrafting is a skill that has multiple steps and while it’s important to be able to create your own runes, there are other skills that are better suited for Runesape’s Double XP Weekend. The main reason Runecrafting will suck as a Double XP Weekend skill to train is that you’ll lose most of your XP bonus time due to running back and forth to the bank to gain rune essence.
